The story begins with a true love at first bite. In 1979, Jacques and France Gauthier always stopped at Le Cochon Dingue in the Champlain district after going to the movies. Jacques, a big fan of "piggy" desserts, completely fell for the owner's carrot cake. This culinary love affair would lead them to buy the little bistro, where they dreamed of welcoming their friends in the warm atmosphere of the places they loved so much.

This year, the Coopérative du Quartier Petit Champlain is celebrating 40 years of history, collaboration, passion, and good neighbourliness.
To mark this milestone anniversary, we're launching a mini-series that will introduce you to the faces, memories, and values that have shaped our neighbourhood all these years.
Over the course of the episodes, you'll learn more about what a cooperative is, the role it plays in the development of the neighbourhood, and the people who help make Petit Champlain such a lively and welcoming place.
