Translation of Quebec City's press release

Quebec City, June 2, 2025 - Quebec City announces the opening of new public washrooms in the heart of the Old Quebec, at 56, boulevard Champlain. The new facilities include eight toilets, two of which are universally accessible to ensure inclusive service for all.

This initiative is part of the city's commitment to provide visitors and residents with modern accessible amenities to make their visit, to busy tourist areas such as the Petit-Champlain, even more enjoyable.

"The addition of these public toilets is excellent news for the Petit Champlain neighborhood, where public spaces are limited to accommodate this type of infrastructure," said Cap-aux-Diamants district councillor Mélissa Coulombe-Leduc. "It's a solid improvement to the urban experience for citizens and tourists alike."

Enhancing the quality of life in the Old Quebec
Improving the number of available public toilets is in line with the city's vision of making the Old Quebec a sustainable living environment that places the quality of life of its citizens, workers and tourists at the heart of its development, while promoting the consolidation of local services. With this in mind, the city opened additional restrooms on the Dufferin Terrace last year.

A list of all public toilets is available on the city's website: Public toilets (in French).
