Cidrerie Verger Pedneault

Germain, Manager

Cidrerie et Vergers Pedneault is a century-old family business located on Isle-aux-Coudres, and is the region's biggest fruit producer. Our orchards cover 22 hectares, with over 6,000 apple trees (35 varieties) and 3,000 fruit trees (pear, plum, cherry, and saskatoon berry). Fruit grows abundantly here thanks to the island’s microclimate, allowing us to open our orchards to the public for U-pick, while still meeting all our production needs.

The cider house alone processes our fruit into 50,000 liters of juice, to produce our 25 ciders, mistelles, and creams, totaling over 100,000 bottles a year! Our expertise led to us opening a museum (Économusée du cidrier) in 2003, as a public showcase for our know-how. In addition to our vast range of processed products (some of which are certified Terroir Charlevoix), we also sell cider vinegar, apple juice and must, as well as butters, jellies, and jams. Our products are available across Québec via our own distribution network and partners.

Our business is a major player in the regional economy, with some fifty employees and a strong commitment to the community, as well as being a leading ambassador for Isle-aux-Coudres and Charlevoix. Some 60,000 visitors stop by the cider house every year, and over 5,000 people come to pick in the fall. Recognized by our peers and customers alike, we're one of the most thriving orchards and arboriculture businesses in Québec! Our innovative and continually expanding business is also active in the food service sector, with our restaurant/bistro Le Corylus and our new Aux fruits du biscuitier cookie and ice cream shop.

The Pedneault family has been cultivating happiness since 1918, and with its quality products, excellent customer service, attractive offerings, innovative flair, unflagging determination, and friendly presence, the business remains to this day a flagship of agritourism on Isle-aux-Coudres and throughout the Charlevoix region.

In 2020, the company pulled out all the stops to encourage people to buy local, creating an online platform—charlevoixenligne.com—to enable home delivery of over 350 products from more than 25 Charlevoix producers. You'll find fine charcuterie, jams, chocolates, mushrooms, coffee, tea, salad dressings, sauces, honey, saffron, spices, juices, cereals, cocktail syrups, skincare products, and more... Everything you need for the perfect gift!
